Campaigns
We are lucky to live in a community comprised of so many gifted and enthusiastic people!
Do you ever think "what we need is a.........", but you don't know who to approach with your idea?
A youth worker at Twyford Youth & Community Centre has just such an idea and eventually he approached us (Twyford Village Centre Management Initiative as we were then known). The result of many years of planning and campaigning can now be seen in King George V playingfield - in full use and enjoyed by residents of all ages - a fantastic
skate park and ball court. Testament to what can be acheived from combining a good idea with the right people to make it happen.
Another excellent idea expressed by many residents is to find new premises to house a bigger library in the centre of our village. Whenever one of our village-centre shops becomes vacant we are overwhelmed by local support for the
library campaign to relocate Twyford library from the expired portacabin in Polehampton Close to a more central location. Recently hopes were pinned on the site of the former pub J. W. Greens. Can you think of another location? Join the library campaign to make Twyford Library a priority for Wokingham Borough Council.
