TVP Secures £15,000 for Village
Twyford Village Partnership have won grant-funding of over £15,000. Together with matched funding from Twyford Parish Council, local traders, volunteers and other organisations this means there is a massive £30,500 to spend in the village!

Campaign to get Twyford to 'Shop Local'
TVP Business Forum will be running a campaign with the Twyford Advertiser encouraging villagers to shop in Twyford. “SPEND IT IN TWYFORD” will run for the next 6/8 weeks and money off vouchers will be printed in the Twyford Advertiser. 10 Mar:

Christmas Competition Winners Announced
Congratulations to Matthew Steele who scooped the first prize in our 2010 Christmas Shop Window Competition. Matthew takes home £100 in vouchers to spend in Twyford Village. Second Prize of £50 goes to Amelia Powell and third prize of £25 to Robert Rudman.

High street shop and TVP Business Forum Member, Twyford Lighting, would like to thank everyone who supported their charity Christmas raffle and helped to raise such a magnificent sum for Twyford Age Concern.

New One-Stop Website to Promote Wokingham Borough
A local business woman and mother from Woodley has set up a new online resource promoting local attractions, services and events in Wokingham Borough. Harriet Slingo came up with the idea of a community focused website after struggling to find a ‘one-stop-shop’ for what’s going on in her local area as well as a local business directory. She said: “Whether you are looking for information in your area, local discount vouchers, planning a wedding or party, moving or improving your home or, you just feel your luck is in with competitions, Click Berkshire has something for everyone.”

March for Honour to Pass Through Twyford Today
The combined teams of Her Majesty's Armed Forces will be marching along the A4 past Twyford this afternoon. The teams are dedicating and speed-marching a mile for every British military life lost on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001.
Spectators are very welcome along the route to cheer the marchers on and show their support for this very worthy cause. The teams will pass through Reading between 2 and 3pm (approximately) and are therefore expected to be along the A4 past Twyford between 4 and 5pm. Charity Pub Quiz Huge Success
Thank you to everyone who helped to make Twyford Lighting’s Charity Pub Quiz a huge success. The Duke of Wellington pub was packed full with standing room only and people were even doing the quiz outside. Over £400 was raised for Twyford Age Concern thanks to some great raffle prizes donated by TVP Business Forum members. Gordon Storey, Business Forum Leader, said: “Bill and Karen (Landlord and Landlady of The Duke) were wonderful hosts and I am sure we will repeat it again as a fun way of helping those less fortunate in our village”.

Twyford Lighting Organises Charity Pub Quiz
Business Forum Member, Twyford Lighting, have arranged a village quiz night in support of Age Concern. The event takes place on Thursday 28 October at 8pm in the Duke of Wellington, Twyford. Entry fee is only £1.50 per person and all proceeds go to Twyford Age Concern.

Hare Hatch Sheeplands are collecting any old or unwanted books to raise funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and The Chiltern Centre for Disabled Children, Henley. Drop off your books at Sheeplands’ Coffee Shop, Twyford Library, The Rocking Horse, Frostings or Creative Crafts Cabin. All are helping to collect thanks to TVP Business Forum.

TVP recently met with First Great Western to discuss the possibility of a ‘halt’ at the Piggott School creating a safe route for children living on the south side of the village.

Treasure Hunt Winners Announced
Congratulations to the winners of TVP’s first ever Summer Treasure Hunt. Matthew Kirk of Llewellyn Park took home the first prize of a Nintendo Wii, Mark Millward of Colleton School collected bike vouchers of £150, and Gino Castagna of Polehampton Junior School received tennis rackets and lessons.

Business Forum Pays for Age Concern Christmas Party
TVP will be hosting a five-day Christmas party for Twyford Age Concern. Members and staff of the Polehampton Court day care centre can look forward to a Yuletide celebration featuring special guests and entertainment as well as turkey and Christmas Pud.
