They are subject to the WEEE recycling scheme, so manufacturers and importers have an obligation to collect and recycle them. Recycled by Robert Dyas (containers near their cash tills) and Waitrose (hand in at Customer Services). (Since February 2010, all retailers selling more than 32 kg a year of household batteries have to provide recycling points for waste batteries.)
