Drivers needed to escort elderly
Volunteers looking for a way to help the community in Twyford can sign up to become a driver for the elderly. The Twyford and District Volunteers group is appealing for drivers to take the elderly and those without transport to hospitals, doctors surgeries, day centres and other facilities. Drivers are not committed to a regular time each week and can turn down requests when they are unavailable. The volunteers operate during the daytime from Mondays to Fridays and usually have three to four days notice of a job. Petrol costs are reimbursed on a fixed scale.
