What is a Parish Plan?

A Parish Plan represents the views of the people who live in that parish. In particular it asks residents what they like and dislike about where they live, and it asks what can be done to protect the things they like, and to improve on the things they dislike.

To simplify the task, the plan is split into four main topic areas:

1) The Environment

2) The Economy

3) Social & Community

4) Transport & Accessibility

As you will see from our Project Timeline the plan is due to be completed in 2010. It will contain a list of action points resulting from questionnaire responses and focus group discussions. These action points will form a 10-year plan for Twyford, hence the name 'Twyford 2020'.

The Parish Plan will document a vision for Twyford for the year 2020 based entirely on the opinions of residents of Twyford.

How can you help?

As a result of the community consultations that have taken place in the form of focus group meetings and both paper and electronic questionnaires, we have compiled a list of over 70 possible action points suggested by residents.

This list of action points needs to be assessed and prioritised by local residents - your village needs you!

Please chose an action group meeting to attend (or several if you would like) to support our efforts in these final stages prior to publication. Minutes of the last meetings are available on each of the relevant pages. You can navigate to these pages using the bottons on the left of the screen or by clicking on the links below:
